I got the opportunity to play MCC on a whirlwind business trip to Chicago. Due to the fact I had to catch a plane
and head to NYC, I only got in 9 holes at Milwaukee. This was bittersweet; bitter because I only got in 9 holes at
this wonderful course; sweet because the back nine (which was the nine I got to play) was really, really good!!
The design of Milwaukee CC is attributed to Harry Colt and Charles Alison for their work on the course in 1927.
And true to Colt and Alison’s work, the bunkering is really quite special.
And the greens are bold with some intimidating slopes.
The routing of the course makes for a wonderful walk and the holes flow together quite well.
Like I said, I only got to play 9. But, trust me, I’ll be back for another go at all 18. It is worth the trip, for sure!!
