Riviera is one of the most iconic golf courses and clubs in the world.  It is right in the mix of high-end Los
Angeles and has that vibe to it.  But in addition to that, the course has a long standing tradition with the PGA
Tour and many champions, and major champions, have been crowned there.

As for the golf course, it was designed by the world famous George Thomas.  The routing of the course is
wonderful and would make for a great walk and round of golf.  The most striking thing to me about the course is
the bunkering.

The way the bunkers are shaped and formed are certainly striking.  But more importantly, they are well placed
and make for very strategic golf.

I don't know if the course has any glaring weaknesses, but, to me, the par 3's might be the course's highlight.
At least as a group.

Everyone has heard about the amazing par 3 6th hole, the one with the bunker in the middle of the green.  But,
really, all the par 3's are something extra special.

However, without question the best hole on the course is the par 4 10th.  The hole has decisions to be made
off the tee and from there the decision making and demand to execute golf shots doesn't end until the ball is in
the hole.  Incredible hole!!

Riviera is highly regarded by many in the golfing world.  And it deserves all the praise it gets.  It is a great place
to play golf.
